Our Students.
Team Pukeko are a group of Year 3, 4, and 5 students from Morningside School in Whangarei, New Zealand. Ages range from six through to nine. Just like the pukeko bird they are curious and endearing. The students love to learn and work together to find things out.
Our Teaching Team.
The teaching team also work together to help each other and share ideas. There are two full time teachers, Miss Fraser and Ms Higgins plus we have Mr V come in to teach in the mornings. Mrs Donaldson is the teacher aid and the team also have Miss Dam and Mrs Dow as teachers who come in on a Thursday and some Fridays.
Our Community.
Our school is situated in the small inner city community of Morningside. The suberb is nestled against Morningside hill which overlooks the centre of the city of Whangarei. Residents enjoy tree lined streets with minimal traffic, a sports park, local convienience store and a relaxing cafe. The walk to town takes minutes.
Our School.
At Morningside School we have four collaborative teaching teams who teach a growing roll. Students are grouped in various ways to help meet their learning needs. We share our resources, our teachers and our ideas. This blog is a way for us to further share our teaching and learning journey with our community and other schools.
